What is the weather like?

The tropical climate of Costa Rica is as varied as the country itself. The dry season and primary tourist season for the begins in November and continues through May of the following year. The temperature range in the region of Samara Beach is between 79 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit (26 to 30 degrees Celsius) with a constant ocean breeze.

While the dry season attracts more tourists to Costa Rica, the green season that begins with the first rains of May, is undoubtedly the most beautiful season, since the rain transforms the countryside to an emerald green, with flowers and blossoms sparkling like so many gems amidst the lush foliage. Rains generally last only a few hours at most.

What clothes should I bring?

The dress code at the resort is casual. The days are warm with a light ocean breeze and the evenings are very comfortable. However, it is recommended to bring a light jacket or sweater along, as the evenings can feel fresh after a warm day.

How do I get to Las Brisas?

We are easily reached by car, taxi, bus or air depending on your point of arrival in Costa Rica. The main roads are in good driving condition and Costa Rica has reliable bus service. If you are arriving in the capitol of San Jose, we suggest that you take a domestic flight that we can arrange for you.

Is my room safe when I am away?

Most definitely! Each room has its own safety box for valuables and the staff is alert for non-resort guests.

Are there medical services nearby?

Yes. Costa Rica has an excellent health care system. A complete, modern hospital is only 30 minutes away and medical offices are located in nearby Playa Carrillo.

Will I need to rent a car?

It isn't necessary to rent a car, as there is excellent local taxi service and reliable bus service throughout Costa Rica.

Do area businesses accept credit cards?

Yes. As with most tourist areas, all major credit cards are accepted.

Is the beach private?

Essentially yes. All beaches in Costa Rica are technically public. The Las Brisas del Pacifico Beach Resort is located in the center of the 4.5 mile (7km) beach and there is no access to the beach by car. You will have the beach to yourself for your own enjoyment.

Is there a town close by?

Yes. The nearby village of Samara is a typical small Central American community catering to the tourist trade with numerous shops, cafes and discotheques. The village is a short 10-minute walk from the resort.
